When in Mexico you will witness some of the most interesting things of your vacation, and sometimes, they will make you want to stay…
One of the most varied and delicious ways to spend a day in Mexico is eating tacos. Yes, that amazing ability Mexicans have to turn almost everything into a taco is really surprising. But tacos here in Mexico are not the ones you eat at those big taco chains selling fried folded tortillas. Real tacos are soft corn tortilla stuffed with whatever you can imagine. To mention some, here you have the most famous and tasty ones – some of them you may not wanna try but give them a chance, it may not be as bad as the name sounds:
Tacos al pastor: Pork loin marinated with pepper and spices; then it is roasted and served on a soft tortilla.
Tacos de cabeza (beef head tacos): The name doesn’t make justice to these delicacies… just try them.
Tacos de longaniza: They are similar to Spanish chorizo but with less spices and equally tasty.
Tacos de carnitas: Another pork delight, and when we say pork we mean almost the whole pork cooked slowly with secret ingredients.
Tacos de alambre: It’s like a brochette but no…actually it has most of the ingredients of one but they are not threaded in skewers.
Let’s say it is most famous alcoholic beverage of Mexico. Worldwide known for its many flavors, each one who tastes it has something different to say about it, good but different. The typical drink made of this delicious libation is Margarita. A Margarita on the beach… the best idea ever!
It is considered as one of the most beautiful anthems in the whole world. Lyrics by Francisco Gónzalez Bocanegra and music by Jaime Nunó Roca. It was first played to the Mexican people in 1854. A poem turned into a beautiful anthem…
4.- Mexican Flag
In 2008 Mexico’s flag won “Most Beautiful Flag” world contest, which was a poll held by the Spanish newspaper 20 Minutos. You can see it for yourself, it is really a beautiful symbol of freedom and hope for a nation.
5.- Avocado / Guacamole
Avocado…known in Mexico as Aguacate (Ahuacatl from the nahuatl). We could say that this fruit has a neutral taste and so it is excellent to be served with many dishes. Ah! We also eat avocado tacos in Mexico by the way, but the best form to enjoy it is in a savory guacamole. Believe us, Mexican guacamole made of fresh avocados is the best you will ever try.
