Cochinita Pibil
Undoubtedly, this is one of the most delicious and famous dishes of the Yucatan Peninsula. The Cochinita Pibil is made of pork meat marinated in achiote and other spices, wrapped in banana leaves and generally cooked slowly in a traditional oven, which is a hole in the ground covered with hot stones and dirt, but it can be done also in a conventional oven. It is served with a sauce of red onion, sour orange and habanero chili.
A small corn tortilla fried until cooked and crispy, and then served with shredded chicken or ground beef. They are also served with sliced tomatoe, lettuce, avocado and red onion. A true delicacy for your palate.
With a chicken soup base, this delicious broth has tomatoe, a hint of what you could say lime but slightly sweeter, and it is served with fried tortilla slices and shredded chicken. Try it, you will love it!
My God! One of our favorites. A delicious slice of Edam cheese stuffed with ground beef, and a king of sauce made of tomatoes (it is not spicy), on another delicious sauce which we could say is a secret recipe. We just can tell you to please order it, you won’t regret it!
Panuchos
This small tortilla made of corn and stuffed with delicious beans is fried in oil or lard, which gives it a special flavor, and then served with sliced lettuce, shredded chicken or pork, sliced tomatoes and an onion sauce with salt and sour orange.
