There is always some concern about visiting a new place for a family vacation; even if you travel with friends or your dearest, there will be some questions you may want to be answered before setting sail to adventure.

First of all you have nothing to worry about security, for Cancun Hotel Zone and the many hot spots around the Riviera Maya, including Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos and Tulum, are really safe for tourists to visit. No one is going to mess around with you for we locals know you are here to have a good time with your family, besties or your beloved one, and our goal is for you to feel safe during your vacations in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Police officers and even locals, will always be around and willing to help visitors.

You don’t need visa to enter Mexico. Your passport and the immigration form you will be asked to fill out during your flight over here are enough to visit us.
3.- Cash
Well, there is always some places where you will be needing cash instead of a credit card and sometimes it will be easier for you to pay that way, specially in pesos. You can also bring dollars and pay with them wherever you want, just take into account that the exchange rate varies a little everyday.
4.- Cleanliness
Naturally you are staying at a hotel or resort in Cancun, Playa del Carmen or any other place you visit here in the Yucatan Peninsula, so there is no need to worry about cleanliness whether it is in you room, common areas, restaurants and bars. The same applies for the restaurants around Cancun Hotel Zone, the Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen and any other food services in shopping malls, so you can drink and eat all you want.
5.- Water
Drink only bottled water. Be sure that ́s what you will get in any restaurant in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Also, when you go out on a tour in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, buy your own at the supermarket or a convenience store near you; here in Mexico you will find places called Oxxo and Extra, which are convenience store chains where you will find the basics. And if you find any corner stores be confident you can also buy bottled water and a snack there.
6.- Drugstores
There plenty all around Cancun and the Riviera Maya, and they sell any type medicine you may need for a headache, if it gives you the runs for eating spicy food, oral saline solutions, also bottled water, and specialized prescribed by a doctor through a medical receipt. You may also bring your own pills or medicine.
