The bioluminescence is a beautiful natural phenomenon consisting on the emission of light from a living being. In Holbox seaside, this occurs widely in marine microorganisms which appear to light up the sea waves as a starry sky. You can witness this magic especially in the southern tip beaches of the island during nights without moonlight and of course, far from electricity. There are thousands of luminous dots coming from tiny plankton and organisms, which emit their own light, such as a firefly.
Without exaggeration, the light is usually so bright that you can even see the fish through the water without a snorkeling mask.
