Please read our simple but most useful tips to make the most of your Cancun vacations:
Weather. The hottest time of the year is from June to August with daily temperatures between 85°F and 89°F, staying relatively warm through winter months. The best time for families is actually in the summer, but for friends always the spring break. Bring a light sweater anyway, maybe for the evening or a night escape.
Accommodation. If you are going to Cancun with your family for your vacations and looking for cheap and good vacations, then you must definitely look for all-inclusive resorts in Cancun to avoid any hidden charges. Always try to make direct booking and in-advanced reservations.
Activities. You can take a snorkel tour through the pristine waters, ride zip lines or go diving – Cancun lies along the Great Mesoamerican Reef, the largest reef in the western hemisphere-. Find hundreds of fun and interesting excursions and magical natural places. Whether you are looking to party, go on a romantic getaway, spend some fun time with your family, or travel for business; Cancun always has something to offer.
Transportation. The cheapest and safest way to get from the airport to Cancun or the surrounding areas and vice versa, and stroll around the area, a Shuttle Service is always your option. There are companies with low cost services for private or shared transportation like Bekare Transfers that will take you anywhere.
Currency and Money. Exchange your currency before you get here. Always bring some cash for tips and shopping, must of the times you will be able to use your credit card, but take cautions.
Places. Relax in Isla Mujeres, a beautiful island just a short ferry ride away from Cancun. Birdwatch at Isla Contoy –a small island nature reserve with stunning beaches and over 100 species of birds. Check out Cancun Underwater Museum and Chichén Itzá, a large Mayan archaeological site and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
Shopping. Walmart, Sam’s Club and Costco have large stores in Cancun City, just a short ride from the hotel zone. Avoid buying things in the Hotel Zone where everything can be more expensive. Market 28 in the downtown area is by far the largest of the marketplaces for some handcrafts and souvenirs.
Dining. Eat local food, is always cheaper and tastier (always try new things!). You will find all kinds of food for all tastes and budgets, from Traditional Mayan cuisine, to Mexican, Seafood or International.
Language. The official language in Mexico is Spanish, but because Cancun is such a popular world tourist spot, you should have no trouble speaking English, especially within the tourism and hospitality industries.
Personal Care. Things like sunscreen and mosquito repellent (note: vital articles) tend to be more expensive in Cancun than what you’d normally pay back home. Also, avoid using normal sunscreen or any other lotions when you swim in the ocean or in a cenote, or check that they are eco-friendly to stop harming animals. Plastic zippered bags are handy for packing wet swimsuits after that last minute swim.
Environment. Do not throw garbage to the sea, marine creatures often mistake colorful things with food and can choke to death. Do not mess with nature and take care of all the beautiful things our planet share with us.
