Under the slogan “The art of conservation”, you will live an amazing underwater adventure, filled with amazement, culture, love for nature and the beautiful flora and fauna of the Caribbean blue sea; all that and more at the MUSA Cancun (Underwater Museum of Art).
Conceived in 2009 with the idea to help in coral reefs conservation, the MUSA and its more than 500 sculptures created by Jason deCaires Taylor, is located between the coastline of two amazing Caribbean destinations, Cancun and Isla Mujeres; two dream places with white sand beaches, breathtaking sea views and other fun activities and things to do.
In this museum you will become part of the art and see the splendorous coexistence among the creatures of the sea, their environment, art and human beings. Also you will be witness of the passage of time over these art pieces and how they become home to all types of marine species, contributing to the creation of an artificial coral reef. The sculptures are made of a special marine concrete that allows corals to grow on their surface, assuring new life to be born in the oceans again.
You can visit this amazing exhibition on board of a glass-bottom ship where you will be able to appreciate the sculptures without getting into the water; perfect for the whole family. Or you can also dive yourself into the bottom of the sea, whether you are an experienced diver or a beginner, this activity will be an amazing experience during your vacations in Cancun and the Riviera Maya.
