The Day of Life and Death is celebrated each year in Mexico on the 1st and 2nd of November. Mexican People worship the Death as the counterpart of Life, as a normal circle of Mother Earth and its beings.
In combination with the catholic tradition, the ancient traditions are the foundation of a festivity that has long characterized the rituals of devotees during this important national Holiday. They visit their dead relatives at the cemetery to bring them flowers and other offerings like cigarettes, bottles and bread.
Inspired on this celebration, every year, Xcaret creates the Festival of Life and Dead with beautiful backdrops for shows, concerts, mounted altars, traditional Mayan food markets and more, decorating every corner of the park to welcome thousands of locals and tourists that enjoy an evening full of magical performances and delicious food.
This year, 2015, the guest of honor is Julieta Venegas, a cutting-edge and trendy singer in Mexico and Latin America with a long and successful career since the late 90’s.
The event is for all family members and cherished by every international guest and traveler that loves Mexican culture, traditions and vast best way to get rid of herpes history. Be welcome in Xcaret Mexico and get the cheapest shuttle services in town: contact us.
